I visited my brother last weekend in Austin, Texas. While I was there, we toured the aftermath of the Bastrop Wildfires. The fires ravaged a huge area southeast of the capital this past September. Our guide, Josh, is a volunteer with a local search and rescue unit and had first hand experience with the disaster. He therefor knew where we could go to see the results of the devastation. The fires moved so fast that many people had only minutes to evacuate their houses. They were forced to leave behind their homes and all of their possessions.
