SANDY AFTERMATH – BREEZY POINT

November 21, 2012
Super Storm Sandy Aftermath -- Breezy Point

These images were all taken in Breezy Point, the New York City neighborhood on the western tip of the Rockaway Peninsula. The area was completely flooded during Super Storm Sandy, and at some point in the night, a massive fire broke out. The fire burned dozens of homes to the ground and scorched the surrounding houses.

In addition to the details of the wreckage, I documented a group firemen searching a house for valuables, James Manning ( in the aqua green Breezy Point sweatshirt ) and his father salvaging what they could form James’ grandmother’s home, and Frank Hines hard at work in his bulldozer beginning to clean up the mess.
